Biography
In I989, after over a decade in NYC where he was a professional designer, musician and actor/model, Christopher O’Brien moved to the San Luis Valley, in South-central Colorado. He began a private investigation of unusual documented events in the SLV which resulted in his first book for St. Martin’s Press The Mysterious Valley (Sept 1996). His second book, Enter the Valley, continued his compelling investigation into documented UFO reports, unusual animal deaths, Native American legends, cryptozoology, secret military activity and the folklore found in the world’s largest alpine valley. He published the third book of his SLV series, titled: Secrets of the Mysterious Valley, published by Adventures Unlimited Press in 2007. Stalking the Tricksters was published in 2010 and his latest book,
Stalking the Herd (2015) is being called the “bible” of cattle mutilation books and is the only single book that fully encompasses a single genre of paranormal mystery.

At home in front or behind the camera, O’Brien has field-produced and directed television segments for the nationally syndicated paranormal news-magazine Strange Universe.
He helped develop, supplied footage, field-produced and appeared in four segments of the Paramount television program Sightings. O’Brien also produced History, Mystery and Greed: the story of Snippy the Horse, and co-produced Dead Whisper and Haunted Desert. He is currently a consulting producer and writer/researcher for Ronald James Films/Stage 3 [Television] Productions.
Chris has co-written an action/adventure film screenplay, Heavy Waters, inspired by his field-research which was judged Honorable Mention in the Southwest Screenwriter’s Guild Contest, just finished a compelling real-life screenplay w/ co-author Lisa Nelson titled: Various Guises,
Awards
He co-produced and edited It Could Happen Tomorrow which won the
WINNER 2012 International UFO Congress Film Festival
EBE Award for Best Feature Film and EBE for the “People’s Choice Award.”
Since 1993, he has written articles for Fate, Open Minds, UFO Universe, World Explorer’s Magazine Leading Edge, CyberWest, Western Spirit, Crestone Eagle, Phenomena, Zeitgeist and UFO Encounters. His investigation and research have been featured in the Denver Post, Pueblo Chieftain, the New Mexican, the Rocky Mountain News, the Albuquerque Journal, the Deseret News, The Red Rock News, Phenomenon, (France) OVNI (Spain), Borderline (Japan). He was a perennial guest lecturer at Adam’s State College from 1994-2002. An entertaining speaker, O’Brien has captivated conference and seminar audiences around the USA with his unique insight into some of our culture’s last remaining mysteries. He hosted his own regional Colorado/New Mexico radio show, Mysterious Valley Report 1996-1999, and published the bi-monthly Mysterious Valley Report 1993-2000. He was the co-host on the popular GCN Network radio program The Paracast from 2010 to 2018 and now has created a new, cutting edge multi-platform media project with Ted Bonnett titled Out There.
A keyboard player/music-producer, videographer and visual artist, he is at home in many laboratories.
